WESLEY SCHOOL WELCOMES YOU

Our mission is to inspire a lifelong commitment to learning by nurturing the “whole child” by providing a stimulating environment that facilitates a foundation for academic, social, and emotional growth.

PHILOSOPHY

Wesley School is a 4-star Texas Rising Star accredited school providing care and education for infants through Pre-K. We also provide aftercare programs and summer programs for children up to 12 years old.

At Wesley School, we follow Frog Street Press / Conscious Discipline. This curriculum focuses on social, emotional, language and literacy skills, mathematical relationships, exploration, physical development, and much more. As children grow at our school, we incorporate more elements of the Texas School Ready program to help prepare them for school.

We believe that school readiness starts in infancy. Children are more successful in their learning when they have a solid foundation in social, emotional and cognitive skills. Our approach involves helping children develop skills in regulating their emotions, establishing and sustaining positive relationships, participating cooperatively and constructively in groups, and most importantly develop a positive approach to learning. We do this by intentionally providing developmentally appropriate activities for the children to participate in. These activities enable children to explore math, science, social studies, reading, writing, etc.

COVID-19 SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

During this uncertain time, we are following safety protocols to ensure the health and safety of our children and staff. Current protocols include:

  • All staff to undergo daily temperature checks and wearing of masks

  • Upon arrival, all children receive and temperature check followed by hand washing before entering the building.

  • Children over the age of 10 are to wear masks while on-premises and other classes as children are ready. We are working with our younger children to make them comfortable with masks and transition to full-time wearing once ready.

  • Frequent disinfecting and sanitizing of high-touch toys and surfaces

  • Frequent handwashing by children and staff, which is standard in our curriculum and daily staff protocols

  • Training teachers on common signs of illness in children, and placing signage in every classroom to keep signs of illness top of mind

  • Continuous health & safety training for staff, including first aid and CPR certification

  • Maintaining an up-to-date and customized Safe School Plan posted in all classrooms for easy teacher access
